Vehicle Information

This, is not just any Dodge. It features the R/T Scat Pack and a 6.4L V8 engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. It’s arguably one of the best possible configurations of the modern Challenger. Since its launch in 2008, we’ve seen many great versions of the third-generation Challenger – most notably the SRT8, the SRT Hellcat, and the limited-production SRT Demon and SRT Demon 170. In recent years the Scat Packs have been less appreciated by fans with the popularity of the many supercharged SRT variants. The Scat Pack, however, is arguably the more driver-friendly car in the real world. With 2023 being the last year for the Dodge Charger and Challenger, they were given the “Last Call” nameplate (on a plaque under the hood) to commemorate the end of a very successful 15-year production run, and a heritage that goes back to the late 60s.

Exterior and Interior
The design of the Challenger is one that needs no introduction. Everything about it is a tribute to the old Challengers of the 1970s. From the body to the recipe for the drivetrain, everything has “old school” written on it. It looks modern but classic at the same time, a feat that few cars have been able to pull off successfully. The widebody on this car enhances its road presence and combined with the racing stripes on the black paintwork and the nostrils on the hood there’s, it’s clear that this car means business. Keeping the yellow sticker on the front lip has become a trend with most Dodge owners, and it’s not hard to see why. In this case it contrasts nicely with the rest of the car and its black and red theme. The “Powered by SRT” on the valve covers are a reminder that, while this may not be a supercharged Hellcat, it’s still a serious piece of engineering. The interior continues the theme of “classic but modern”, from the white dials to the big, well-padded seats. The infotainment screen may not be big by modern standards but considering the way in-car screens have gone in recent years this is probably a good thing, and it still does its job well. The job in question includes the drive mode configurations, Line Lock, launch control and more performance settings. The interior isn’t Spartan either, with contrast stitching and the Scat Pack logo on the alcantara and nappa leather seats, ambient lighting on the door trim panel and a flat bottom steering wheel. Of course, the biggest part of this interior is the stick shift in the middle and the third pedal, a rare sighting in a modern Dodge.

Engine
The point of the Scat Pack is to be a good driver’s car rather than the fastest possible car, hence the powerful but naturally aspirated 6.4L V8 under the hood. In this interest, the 6-speed manual transmission probably makes the most sense for pure driving pleasure. Indeed, this car probably isn’t going to corner like it’s Ford and Chevy counterparts, but then that’s the charm of a Dodge. This being said, it does have high performance suspension to help it handle better and Brembo brakes with 6-piston front calipers and ABS to bring all that power and weight to a stop when needed.
